Which wireless water tank level display kit is right for me ?

The AQUAMETA R1 Kit and the Rain Alert kit are both suitable for the monitoring of water levels in non pressurized water tanks. Both units use a wireless signal to update a 10 bar graph display that can be located some distance away.
AQUAMETA uses a differential pressure sensor at the bottom of the tank to gauge the water level. Rain Alert uses a ultrasonic transmitter located at the top of the tank to gauge the water level. AQUAMETA has additional features. Check the feature list below to assist you in deciding which kit to purchase.

Select the AQUAMETA R1 kit  if you require any one of these additional features

Select Rain Alert if you do not require any of the special AQUAMETA features and you have considered the issues below.

Communication range over 200m (Max 300m)
L Series 10Km+

Need to monitor water levels over 3m (Max 4m)
You require the level display unit to be updated more often than once an hour
You want to have control over when the level alarm is raised. (Adjustable alarm level)
You need to install the system and verify that it is working in 30 minutes. Why is this an issue ?
  You require high accuracy
You need to have the ability to calibrate the maximum level in that tank very accurately
The ratio of the height to the minimum width of your ribbed tank is greater than 1.6 (This is the case for many Skinny or Slim line tanks)
You require extended test and calibration features to assist in easily installing the system.
Your mains voltage is other than 240V AC
You want to log or capture water levels to a computer

The Rain Alert system uses a ultrasonic beam to measure the distance of the water from the top of the tank. This beam has a cone shape that is emitted at a 39 degree angle. This means that the transmitter must be installed away from the sides of ribbed tanks. The deeper the tank, the further away it must be installed from the edge.
The rule of thumb:
For every meter drop, you need to install the transmitter 300mm from any edge. 2m drop - 600m from any edge.
This may become an issue in Skinny or Slim Line tanks that have ribs.

Rain Alert can introduce an error in level reporting if it is installed on water tanks where the installation location is over 150mm above the maximum water level. Rain Alert does not make allowances for an air gap that exceeds 150mm between the maximum water level and the top of the tank where it may be installed.
