The AN4020 is a 4-20mA loop powered indicator with battery backup. This level indicator provides a local level reading at the tank whilst at the same time supplying a 4-20mA signal. In the event of the 4-20mA loop power being lost, a local reading of the tanks contents can be obtained by pressing a button.

How does it work?
The level probe is suspended from the top onto the bottom of the tank. The AN4020 level sensor uses the latest technology to sense the pressure of the water above it. The pressure is converted to an electrical signal and then transmitted through via the cable to the display unit. The level is displayed on a meter dial on the display unit as a percentage of the maximum depth. At the same time a 4-20mA signal is transmitted. In the event of the 4-20mA loop power being lost, the level at the tank can be obtained by pressing the button on the AN4020. The internal backup battries are used to provide power so that a reading can be obtained at the display.
